Lloret de Mar, July 1, 2023.- The 8th Lloret Night Trail, organized by the City Council and for the first time jointly with the Lloret-La Selva Athletics Club and La Sansi, has had nearly 500 registered and 25% more arrivals than the previous edition. With the collaboration of the La Selva Regional Council and the sponsorship of Acerko. It should be noted that participants from 15 different countries were registered, starting at Avenida de las Alegrías and arriving at Lloret beach in front of the Town Hall. In the men's category in the 14 km, the international athlete from Argentina Gaston Cambareri won, Karim Cabeo (Morocco) second with 1'04'33 and third Jonathan Roque from Argentina. In women, victory for Argentina's Maria Florencia Milanesi with 1'13'16, ahead of Almudena Ortiz de La Sansi and Irene Perales.  Today, in the "pac de les olors" of Lloret de Mar, the presentation of the Lloret Night Trail took place, the test that will be held next Saturday, July 1 and that this year reaches its eighth edition. The Lloret Night Trail is a night race that runs through the best sections of the coastal path and forests of Lloret, ending on the beach with a spectacular arrival surrounded by torches, and offers the possibility of choosing between two distances, 7 and 14 kilometres.
 
 The Lloret Night Trail, organized by the City Council and for the first time with the collaboration of the Lloret-La Selva Athletics Club and La Sansi, and sponsored by Acerko, expects to exceed 500 registered and highlights that the race presents an amazing route, of great attraction and natural value.
 
 The starting signal for the Lloret Night Trail will be at 9:25 p.m. in front of the tourist office on Avenida de les Alegries and it will go through the wooded area of the municipality, ending on Lloret beach.
 
 Registration prices start at €12 for the 7-kilometre option and start at €16 for the 14-kilometre option. In addition, all participants will receive a bag with different gifts and a headband.

PRESENTED THE 9TH EDITION OF THE NIGHT TRAIL LLORET

The nocturnal trail of the Costa Brava has exceeded the forecasts of the organizers and exhausts the 600 bib numbers available to participate next June 29 in this unique nocturnal test that covers the areas surrounding Lloret de Mar. To guarantee the smooth operation of the test, participation is limited and number numbers will not be sold on the same day. The race, which can be scored for the Championchip League, starts at 21:25 next to the Tourist Office to take us to some of the most unique places on the Selvatana coast, it goes through the woods of Sant Quirze towards Les Jardins de Santa Clotilde, goes down to Fenals beach to go up again to Sant Joan Castle, brings us closer to Cala Banys and ends with an arrival in the middle of Lloret de Mar. This year we are launching the section of the circular path that connects Fenals with the tower of Sant Joan, offering us a picture-postcard view over the sea and a section of stairs that will delight the most demanding participants!

Despite the efforts of the Lloret de Mar City Council's work teams, Lloret Beach will not be in the necessary conditions to welcome the arrival of the Night Trail 2024. On June 11, the tasks began to leveling the sand on the beach and although much progress has been made in the section that goes from the Museu del Mar towards La Caleta, the southern part of the beach, more damaged by the storms and where the last meters of the Night Trail still does not have enough sand, and what is there does not allow safe running conditions. This morning, in the coordination meeting between the organizers and the City Council, it was decided that the current state of the beach does not offer the space or the appropriate security conditions to welcome the arrival of the test. So, despite the important efforts made by the Sports and Environment Departments of Lloret de Mar City Council and the organizing entities, this year the race will end at the Roca d'en Maig, when the section of the road ends round Although the finish will still be by the sea, the organizers hope to bring back the finish on the beach for the 10th edition in 2025. We cannot go against Nature but for our part we will use all the means to continue offering an experience like that of the last editions, where the arrival is a party for the participants, with fire, music and the warmth of the Costa Brava.

In women, winner Laia Cuervo, ahead of Ana Belen García and the athlete Blanca Gonzalez. The charity check with the contributions raised in the race has been delivered to the Health Volunteers entity to help improve the conditions of the children's population on the Island of Nosy Be and the Ambanja region in Madagascar.
